- Does the game need an internet connection?
- No. The whole dictionary - 168,310 words and 107,815 definitions - is built into the app, so every mode works in Airplane Mode.
- My word was refused. Why?
- A word must start with the letter the previous word ended on, be at least three letters long, not have been played already in that run, and be in the app's dictionary. The message under the plate says which rule it was.
- Why does a word I played have no definition?
- The word list includes inflected forms such as cats and running, and the definition source has no separate entry for those. About a third of playable words are in that state. The word still counts and still scores.
- How do I get on the leaderboard, or get off it?
- The first time you sign in to Game Center, the game asks whether to upload your scores. Nothing is uploaded unless you say yes. You can change the answer any time with the sharing control on the home screen.
- How do I erase my progress?
- On the home screen, use the reset control - it takes two taps, so a single accidental tap changes nothing. Deleting the app also removes everything stored on the device.
- Is there anything to buy?
- No. There are no in-app purchases and no subscriptions. The game is free and supported by ads, and the two ad offers - continuing a finished run and one extra power-up - are always optional.
- Can I ask for a word to be added or removed?
- Yes. Email the word and we will look at it. The dictionary comes from the public-domain ENABLE list, so changes apply to a future update.
